Concord Birth and Wellness Center

The journey of pregnancy, birthing and parenting is a very intimate and intense adventure. The foundation of our care is RESPECT, HONESTY, and TRUST. Each woman has a very individual experience and deserves reverence and celebration. A woman has the right to choose where and with whom she feels the safest, most empowered and secure, to have the experience she desires.

We are dedicated to providing the highest standard of care, offering an intricate balance of tradition and technology. Midwives are the facilitators of natural process and reserve intervention, invasive testing and procedures for situations outside the parameters of normal. We allow as much time as needed to listen, interact and educate — encouraging families to be proactive, to make truly informed decisions about their care.

Cindy Owen NHCM CPM

Midwife

Cindy has been attending births in this area since 1999 with several local midwives. She has had her own home birth practice, Birthroot Midwifery Service since 2005. She has recently taken on the role of Administrator of the Concord Birth Center. Cindy continues to provide home birth services, as well as birth center births. She also works in other areas of women’s healthcare, and co-manages a farmers market. Cindy and her family reside in Salisbury, NH.

Kate Hartwell NHCM CPM

Midwife

Kate has been attending births for over three years. As an apprentice-trained midwife, she has attended over 200 births. The philosophy behind midwifery care is what has motivated her to become a midwife herself: fostering a relationship with her clients, protecting and preserving the natural process of labor and birth, and creating a warm, safe environment are all crucial in the prenatal, birth, and postpartum periods. Birthing a baby can be a transformative experience, and Kate is there to guide mothers and families through that process.

From I-93 north or south? take exit 15w in Concord, merge into Right lane, turn Right at traffic light onto N. State St. Drive approx. 1 mile and turn Right at red Smokestack Center sign - easy to miss! Turn Right at stop sign and drive around to the left of the little brick building (that’s us) and turn right into parking lot. Concord Birth and Wellness Center sign over our 2 glass entrance doors.
